ACNE & ACNE SCARRING
Acne is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. This can lead to pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads on the face, neck, chest, and back. Acne can be caused by a variety of factors, including hormonal changes, stress, and certain medications. Although acne is most common among teenagers during puberty, it can affect people of all ages.
The main causes of acne are:
Hair follicles, clogged by oil and dead skin cells
Bacteria
Hormonal related
Excess production of oil/sebum
The causes of acne can be further exacerbated due to hormones, medication, diet and stress.
Acne scarring is a common complication of acne that can occur when the skin is damaged by inflammation or injury. Scarring can take many forms, including ice pick scars, rolling scars, and boxcar scars and can also be exacerbated due to picking or squeezing of primary lesions.
